Chinese rubber tree 杜仲
Chinese rubber tree (lat. Eucommia ulmoides) is a plant from the family Eucommiaceae. The
bark of this tree is used in TCM.
Taste, Characteristic, and Meridian
Sweet, slightly pungent, warm in nature.
Returns to the the liver and kidney meridians.
Value in Traditional Chinese Medicine
Tonifies the liver and kidneys, strengthens the muscles and bones,
tranquilizes the fetus. It is used for treating soreness of the waist and spine, weakness of the feet and knees, leakage of urine, wetness and itching in the nether regions, miscarriage, over-active movement of the fetus, and high blood pressure.
