Chinese cork tree

Chinese cork tree (lat. Phellodendron chinense) is a plant from family Rutaceae. Its dried
barks are used in TCM.

Taste, Characteristic, and Meridian

Bitter, cold by nature. Returns to kidney and bladder
meridians.

Value in Traditional Chinese Medicine
 

Clears heat and dries dampness, removes fire and bone heat, detoxifies and
heals abscesses. It is used in treating damp-heat dysentery, jaundice, redness of urine,
leucorrhea and itching, urinary tract infection accompanied by pain, feet odor, bone heat and chronic bone heat, night sweating, spermatorrhea, abscesses, eczema and wet sores. Chinese cork tree nourishes yin and reduces fire.
