Jujube (lat. Ziziphus jujuba) is a plant of the genus Ziziphus in the
family Rhamnaceae. Ripe fruits of this plant are used in TCM.

Sweet, warm by nature. Returns to the spleen and stomach meridians.

Value in Traditional Chinese Medicine
 

Tonifies the spleen and stomach, suplements qi and promotes the production of body fluids, regulates constructive and defensive qi, and reduces side effects of medications. It’s used for treating gastric asthenia, loss of appetite, spleen weakness, watery stool, deficiency of qi, blood and fluid, disharmony between constructive and defensive qi,
palpitation and anxiety.
