Sichuan chinaberry (lat. Melia toosendan) is a plant from family Meliaceae, the dried fruits
of this plant are used in TCM.

Taste, Characteristic, and Meridian

Bitter, cold.
Returns to the liver, small intestine and bladder meridians.

Value in Traditional Chinese Medicine
 

Relieves heat from the liver, promotes circulation of qi, relieves pain and kills parasites.
It’s used for treating qì stasis and fire in hepatic system, distension and pain in the chest and stomach, hernia, abdominal pain due to parasitic infection.
