Chinese woad板蓝根

Chinese woad – Isatis Indigotica is a flowering plant in the Brassicaceae family. Its dried
roots are used in TCM.

Bitter, cold in nature. Returns to the heart and stomach meridians.

Some of the effects of Chinese woad roots include clearing away heat, detoxicating, cooling the blood, relieving sore throat. The roots are used for treatment of fever caused by exogenous pathogens, initial stage of diseases caused by pathogenic heat, sore throat, skin spots caused by pathogenic heat, mumps, erysipelas, abscess and pimples.
