Chinese scholar tree is a plant from family Leguminosae. The dried flowers and buds of the plant are used in TCM.

Bitter, slightly cold. Returns to the liver and large
intestine meridians.
Value in Traditional Chinese Medicine
Cools the blood to stop bleeding, clears the liver and removes fire.
It is used in treating blood in stool, hemorrhoids, dysentery with bloody stool, metrorrhagia and metrostaxis, hematemesis, epistaxis, liver-heat, conjunctival congestion, headache and dizziness.
